Intelligent Design
Muffin Monster® cutter & spacer designs provide Industry-leading performance at every level of the waste stream. JWC’s Intelligent Design process has resulted in proprietary & patented cutters & spacers which have been designed to address specific waste challenges. This flexibility allows users to create their own bespoke grinders, unlike competitive grinders that use “cutter block” systems, for example. Choosing a single cutter type for a grinder may address one challenge while ignoring the others.
Monster Metal®
JWC created Monster Metal® specifically for use in Muffin Monster® Grinders. Wastewater is tough on grinder cutters that commonly have to grind large rubble, gritty material and handle acidic sewage daily. The combination of an abrasive and corrosive environment accelerates the wear down of cutter material, resulting in the loss of cutter thickness and tooth edges.
Monster Metal® cutters are made with a special alloy that has just the right balance of carbon for abrasion resistance and chromium for corrosion resistance and has been treated to improve its strength (HRC of 55 to 60), which is harder than most conventional alloy steel cutters used in municipal grinders from other manufacturers. Intelligent Cutter Stack Designs
JWC Muffin Monster® grinders feature cutter stacks that can be designed to handle every unique waste stream challenge
Cutters lower in the stack handling large debris such as wood, rocks, and solid trash, feature unique combinations of design, hardness, number of teeth and thickness to ensure performance to user-specified levels. Cutters with fewer teeth allow for greater throughput, higher cut force and processing of larger materials. Learn More Here
Wipes Ready Cutters have more teeth, each with multiple serrations to improve material shredding by puncturing and allowing tearing to create a uniform confetti-cut that is less susceptible to reweaving with hair and grease. The particle output is designed to be small enough for pumps to easily manage but large enough to be captured by a fine screen The knurled surface of the spacer is used exclusively with Wipes Ready Cutters to provide added grip on the material, further improving particle size control by allowing the cutter’s perforations to puncture the material during the tearing action created by the differential speed of the shafts. Reduced Maintenance Time & Costs
Every level of Muffin Monster® cutters and spacers may be serviced or replaced individually, keeping maintenance costs low. Should waste stream characteristics change over time, the cutter stack can be easily re-configured to keep specific solids reduction capabilities high.
Servicing sewage grinders using “cutter blocks” requires the removal/replacement of the entire block, increasing downtime and expense.
